Dr. Cobbs Asks some important questions of interest to Bend residents - Chiropractor Bend Dr. Cobbs Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Can chiropractic relieve PMS?
If you have subluxations, especially in the lower spine that impair nerves that direct and monitor the reproductive and hormonal systems, chiropractic could be helpful. Undetected subluxations may also be responsible for pelvic pain, incontinence, sexual dysfunction and even infertility. Maybe chiropractic can help. Find out!

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-Sacral Therapy dates back to the late 1800's. It is a gentle method of correcting the affects which stress, trauma and illness have upon our brain, central nervous systems. The cranio-sacral system consists of delicate membranes (dura mater) and cerebrospinal fluid that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Enveloping the bones of the face, skull and mouth, these membranes extend down the spinal canal, anchoring above the tail bone, upon the sacrum.

The significance of the dura is that it possesses approximately 3 inches of flexibility or slack. In the presence of structural misalignments, poor posture and curvatures of the spine, this slack is diminished, creating significant tension and compression of the dura membranes. This produces the effect of increased brain, spinal cord and cranial bone compression. The cranio-sacral system operates on the principles of hydraulics. Cerebrospinal fluid fills or empties within the brain every 6 seconds of the day. Disturbances, imbalances or compression forces within this hydraulic system can potentially cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological disabilities or disorders.

The gentle nature of Cranio-Sacral Therapy encourages the body's inherent healing and self correction capabilities to alleviate the destructive effects that stress and dysfunction play upon our skeletal, central and autonomic nervous systems.

Conditions that have respond well to Cranio-Sacral Therapy include: head injuries, migraines & headaches, motor coordination impairments, birth trauma & infantile disorders, chronic fatigue, spinal conditions/curvatures, ADD, ADHD, & learning disabilities, Tempromandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ), and central/autonomic nervous system disorders.
